Lying on the gentling rolling foothills that cascade down from the ever-present Mount Meru is the bustling and vibrant town of Arusha. It is here on the outskirts of this town, hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations, that you will find Arusha Coffee Lodge, a perfect haven for relaxation either before or after any African safari.

Meals included:                   Welcome Dinner

Day Two ~ Tarangire National Park
Breakfast at the hotel.

After an Alfresco Lunch in the gardens of the lodge you will be transferred to Arusha Airport for your flight to Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire National Park. On arrival at the airstrip, you will be met by the Tarangire Treetops team for your game drive in Tarangire National Park ending in Treetops’ Private Reserve.

Tarangire National Park lies south east of Lake Manyara and covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers(1,100 square miles.) The landscape and vegetation is incredibly diverse with a mix that is not found anywhere else in the northern safari circuit. The hilly landscape is dotted with vast numbers of Baobab trees, dense bush and high grasses.

Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It's the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared Oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed.

You will arrive at Tarangire Treetops in time for sundowners. Here you will experience the drama and beauty of Africa in one of the most iconic locations that Tarangire has to offer. Sunset Hill is the perfect locations to sit atop and enjoy the deep orange sunsets that often welcome in the starry skies. Food and drinks will be served at this truly magical experience.

Accommodations:    Tarangire Treetops
Meals Included:        Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and domestic open bar

Day Three ~ Tarangire National Park
Breakfast at the hotel

After breakfast you will enjoy a full day of activities including game drives, a game walk, sundowners in the bush, a night game drive, and a visit to an authentic Maasai village.

The Maasai Village gives a unique insight to the life of the Maasai. The inhabitants of the village vary in age but are all very warm and friendly and eager to meet guests.

There is no better way to up close and personal to the wild than to take a walking safari. Feel the ancient earth beneath every step you take as you tread on the tracks of animals that have walked the same path minutes before. In the company of an experienced guide, you will learn about the flora as well as the fauna, and begin to understand the true majesty of the indigenous peoples that live and thrive on the land.

Sundowner cocktails and dinner will be served on Sunset Hill.

Just after dusk, the night game drive will offer a rare opportunity to see how the bush ‘comes alive’ after dark. Driving with an experienced and qualified Elewana guide, the 1.5-hour drive provides an insight into the nocturnal wildlife that is often overlooked. With a keen eye and unbroken concentration, there is much to see and wonder at on a night game drive.

Lake Manyara is a shallow lake in the Natron-Manyara-Balangida branch of the Great Rift Valley in Tanzania. Said by Ernest Hemingway to be the loveliest lake in Africa, it is also the home of a diverse set of landscapes and wildlife. Of the 127 square miles (of Lake Manyara National Park, the lake's alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles, though the area and pH fluctuate widely with the seasons, and dry spells expose large areas of mud flats. While most known for baboons, the lake and its environs is also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes.

After lunch you will be driven to Manyara airstrip for your onward flight to the Serengeti, where you will stay at either Serengeti Pioneer Camp or Serengeti Migration Camp.

The choice of Camp will be made in advance of your arrival to Tanzania with the decision based on which location will provide the optimum game-viewing opportunities. Both Camps provide exceptional accommodation and are located close to the migratory path of the wildebeests Migration. However, each Camp benefits from resident wildlife - all-year round. Enjoy full-day game drives, bush luncheons and dinners as well as evenings under the stars at the Camps. You will spend the next 2 nights in a luxurious safari tent.

Day Seven ~ Serengeti National Park
Breakfast at the hotel

After breakfast you will spend the full day exploring the vast Serengeti. Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park and a world heritage site, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing.

As enduring as the game-viewing is the liberating sense of space that characterizes the Serengeti Plains, stretching across sunburnt savannah to a shimmering golden horizon at the end of the earth. Yet, after the rains, this golden expanse of grass is transformed into an endless green carpet flecked with wildflowers. And there are also wooded hills and towering termite mounds, rivers lined with fig trees and acacia woodland stained orange by dust.

Enjoy a lunch in the bush, after which the afternoon will be spent game viewing. You will return to your camp in time for sundowners and dinner with spectacular views on the sunset deck adding to the incredible experience that is Serengeti.
