When the Romans set up camp in Cologne in 38 BC, their contests and games of skill were nothing compared to the games that would follow in just over 2,000 years. Since 1982, the Gay Games have provided an opportunity for gay people to demonstrate to the world our skills and competitive spirits in sports in a safe, open, honest arena.

The Gay Games have been hosted in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, Amsterdam, Sydney, and Chicago, and now the Games come to another of the world's most gay-friendly cities, Cologne, Germany. Famous for it's Cathedral Masterpiece, Cologne is also well-known as having one of the biggest, most active gay communities in all of Europe. Visitors are often surprised by all that is available to gay travelers.
