Zoom Vacations Featured Traveler

Vacation Challenge’s Alicia Driskill

As a featured regular on the Travel Channel’s “Vacation Challenge” Zoom Vacations plans dream getaways for people who are in great need of a vacation. Alicia Driskill was one of these people, along with her boyfriend, Brett Kreisman, and friends Nash and Bela Patel.

Alicia and her friends had to choose between Zoom’s trip to Quebec City, and trips to San Francisco and Mexico City, developed by two other travel planners. When it came down to choosing, it was no contest: they chose Quebec City.

“I thought Bryan did a fabulous job creating the

perfect package for us,” Alicia said, “He took our interests and hobbies into factor when gathering info on our activities. It also had a great combo of outdoor activities & culture.”

Their vacation took place during Quebec City’s New France Festival at summer’s end and the episode aired November 1st. The group stayed in stunning accommodations at the Chateau Frontenac, the world’s most photographed hotel, which looks like a grand castle.

“I loved the fact that Bryan went out of his way to make us feel welcomed into the city, and we loved the entire trip,” Alicia said, “We stayed in the steeple of a castle that overlooked the city, zip corded through forests outside of Quebec City, and dressed up in costumes for the festival... what more could you ask for. Plus the variety of food was AMAZING.”

They also enjoyed VIP treatment at the city’s best nightclub, called Maurice, and took a romantic river cruise. In fact romance was definitely in the air that weekend, and Alicia’s friend Nash purposed to his girlfriend Bela on the grounds of the Chateau.

When asked what her hi-lights were of the trip, Alicia said, “Probably the Festival and the variety food. It is hard to narrow it all down to just a few, but the Festival was such a unique experience, we felt like we went back in time over 200 years with the costumes, the parade and the fabulous food! At our fine dining dinner, we got to try stag, caribou, French onion soup, buffalo, lobster, scallops and so much more, plus they gave us unlimited amounts of French wine to sample!

Alicia and her friends were ideal candidates for the show; they are smart, fun, considerate, and most importantly, open for anything!

“I love traveling because it provides an opportunity to explore new places and immerse yourself in other cultures. Taking a break for your daily routine to travel to new places brings a certain tranquility to your life. By learning how others live, play and think, we become more knowledgeable and confident in our own lives as well,” Alicia said. We couldn’t agree more.

So how did she and her friends get an all-expense paid, professionally planned vacation? Her boyfriend (Brett) found the listing on Craigslist.org, and they auditioned with pictures, bios, and eventually an audition tape answering why they needed a vacation. If you and your partner or friends feel you’ve got what it takes to enjoy an amazing vacation on TV, email your pictures, bios, and “why you need a vacation” to mcpcasting2@martin-calvertprod.net
